Today I saw an AXE commercial, showing two people with an exact identical habit, doing their daily stuff, backed by a great soundtrack and just a pinch you see a spark of another person with a havoc sound interfering with the melodic voices of the two identical couple. Long story short the two identical couple nearly bumped to each other when we would assume that this will create a happy ending. But the other guy steps in and of course equipped with AXE as the deodorant that he wears the girl instantly looked at the opposite behavior guy not to the guy that has identical characteristics and interest.
Good Guy 0 - Bad Guy 1
Well, this is just a another good ad campaign from AXE which as always exploit women as the subject that can change course or do as the bidding of the men that uses AXE deodorant.
To talk more about this olfactory (sense of smell) sensitivity, according to the research it is true that women are much more sensitive to smell then men is, some research says that women's greater ability to detect odours and aromas could be linked to the oestrogen hormone.
Even " Some studies have shown that during ovulation, there's a surge of oestrogen which increases sensitivity"
In US study showed women of reproductive age are far better at identifying odours than men after repeated exposure to the source of the smell. The test weredone repeatedly and in the test women are much more sensitive to cherry-almond smell of benzaldehyde and a few other odours at progressively at a much lower concentrations. Whereas for males who's taking the similar test never improved their sensitivity in identifying the odours with experience
So, long story short as explained in the above text, expert can summarize that female sex hormones have a role in enabling exposure-induced increases in odour sensitivity and smells activate a greater region in the brain in women than men.
So for guys out there if you want to attract a lady/ a girl/ a women; please wear some perfumes of course with a hint of Benzaldehyde (cherry almond note) in it..
